On the 8th of June, The Director of Public Health for Lancashire, Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, has again recommended that schools do not open more widely for Years R, 1 & 6, as two of the five tests the government had set out are not yet being met adequately. The R rate is above 1 and the government Track and Trace system is not yet operating at the required standard.

The earliest schools have been advised to reopen more widely in Lancashire is the 22nd June. Each Monday Dr Sakthi Karunanithi will review the current situation and advise schools accordingly. This means that unfortunately, we will not be welcoming children in YR, 1 or 6 back to school at the moment. In the meantime, school is open for key worker and priority children; if you do require provision please do contact school.

Please can I take this opportunity to reiterate the importance of social distancing and everyone remaining alert in these times. Can I also ask that if someone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19, please do not send your child(ren) into school until that person has had a test and received a negative result back.
