We are exploring freestanding structures in our DT topic this half term.
Our challenge this week was to create a bridge that could support the weight of a toy car, using just 8 pieces of A4 paper and sellotape. We had to think about how we could change the shape of the paper, for example by folding or rolling it, to make it stronger and more rigid. We investigated how moving the supports or changing the base made the bridge more stable. Each group had a different approach to their bridge, but we all managed to achieve our goal!
Reception’s challenge was to build the tallest tower using just paper and sellotape. They worked brilliantly in teams, sharing their ideas and solving problems.
